What we mill

Eight products, each with a specification you can hold us to.

We do not publish vague claims about quality. Below is exactly what varies on each product, so you can tell us what you need instead of guessing.

Tur Dal — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Pulses

Tur Dal

Toor Dal · Arhar Dal · Split Pigeon Pea

The crop this district is known for, and the one we have milled the longest. Vidarbha tur arrives at our gate within hours of leaving the field, which is the whole reason the mill sits where it does.

We buy from the mandis around Paratwada and Yavatmal through the arrival season, clean and destone it, split it without shattering the grain, and colour-sort what comes off the line. How hard we sort and how fine we screen is set by what the buyer is packing into — a retail pouch that sits on a shelf under light gets a tighter tolerance than a catering sack.

  • Form: Whole split dal, husk removed
  • Cleaning: Destoned, de-chaffed, magnet-screened
  • Sorting: Optical colour sorting to buyer tolerance
  • Finish: Unpolished, or water / oil polish on request
  • Moisture: Controlled for the destination climate
  • Packing: 25 / 30 / 50 kg sacks · printed retail packs · private label

Typically bought for: Household cooking, restaurant and catering supply, branded retail packing, export to Gulf, Africa and North America.

Chana Dal — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Pulses

Chana Dal

Split Bengal Gram · Split Desi Chickpea

Milled mainly at Yavatmal, where the desi chana belt starts a few kilometres from the unit. Bold, even split with the husk properly off and the powder screened out.

Chana is less forgiving than tur — split it wrong and you get fines instead of dal, and fines are where margin disappears for everyone in the chain. We run it slower and screen it harder. Buyers can specify how bold they want the split and how tight the colour band should be.

  • Form: Split, husk removed
  • Cleaning: Destoned, de-chaffed, sieve-graded
  • Sorting: Optical colour sorting available
  • Fines: Screened out to buyer tolerance
  • Moisture: Controlled for storage and transit
  • Packing: 25 / 30 / 50 kg sacks · retail packs · private label

Typically bought for: Besan milling, household and catering use, snack manufacturing, branded retail, institutional supply.

Kabuli Chana — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Pulses

Kabuli Chana

White Chickpea · Garbanzo Bean

Sold by millimetre, not by eye. Kabuli is the one product where a machine has to make the call, because the difference between a container that clears inspection and one that gets discounted is measured in fractions of a millimetre.

We calibrate to the count the buyer asks for — 8 mm, 9 mm, 10 mm and above — and hold the band tight across the lot, because a mixed-size container is what buyers reject. Cream-white, uniform, hand-picked finish available for export cartons.

  • Sizing: Machine calibrated — 8 mm, 9 mm, 10 mm+, or custom count
  • Uniformity: Tight size band held across the lot
  • Appearance: Cream-white, uniform colour
  • Finish: Machine-cleaned, hand-picked option for export
  • Cleaning: Destoned, de-chaffed, gravity-separated
  • Packing: 25 / 50 kg sacks · export cartons on request

Typically bought for: Hummus and canning, retail packing, hotel and institutional catering, export to Gulf, Europe and North America.

Red Chana — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Pulses

Red Chana

Desi Chana · Brown Chickpea · Kala Chana

Whole desi chana, cleaned and moisture-controlled for buyers who mill it themselves or sell it whole.

A straightforward product where the only things that matter are how clean it is, how even the size is, and whether the moisture will hold through the journey. We get all three right and we do not make it more complicated than that.

  • Form: Whole desi chana
  • Cleaning: Destoned, de-chaffed, gravity-separated
  • Sizing: Sieve-graded to buyer requirement
  • Moisture: Controlled for transit and storage
  • Appearance: Even brown, uniform size band
  • Packing: 25 / 30 / 50 kg sacks

Typically bought for: Besan and dal milling, roasted chana manufacture, retail whole-pulse packing, export.

Lokwan Wheat — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Cereals

Lokwan Wheat

Sharbati-type · Milling Wheat

Central Indian food-grade wheat, cleaned and graded for flour mills and retail packers.

Lokwan has a reputation for the way it behaves in an atta mill — the flour and the roti it makes. We source it from the growing belt, clean it properly, and hold the moisture where it needs to be so it does not go soft in storage.

  • Type: Lokwan / Sharbati-type milling wheat
  • Cleaning: Destoned, de-chaffed, gravity-separated
  • Sizing: Sieve-graded
  • Moisture: Controlled for milling and storage
  • Appearance: Uniform amber grain
  • Packing: 25 / 30 / 50 kg sacks · retail packs

Typically bought for: Atta and maida milling, retail wheat packing, institutional supply, export.

Yellow Maize — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Cereals

Yellow Maize

Corn · Feed and Industrial Grade

Feed and industrial grade maize, moisture-controlled and cleaned for bulk despatch.

Maize moves on moisture and cleanliness. We dry and screen it before it goes out, because a load that arrives wet is a load that arrives with a claim attached.

  • Grade: Feed grade · industrial grade
  • Cleaning: Screened, destoned
  • Moisture: Dried and controlled before despatch
  • Broken: Controlled to buyer tolerance
  • Packing: 50 kg sacks · bulk loading
  • Despatch: Full truck and rake movement

Typically bought for: Poultry and cattle feed manufacture, starch and industrial processing, export.

Cottonseed Cake — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Cottonseed

Cottonseed Cake

Cattle Feed · Khalli · Sarki Pend

A by-product of our oil filtering line, and a staple cattle feed across Vidarbha.

Sold locally and shipped out in bulk. Protein content and freshness are what buyers judge it on, so we do not let it sit.

  • Type: Expeller cottonseed cake
  • Use: Cattle and dairy feed
  • Freshness: Despatched close to production
  • Packing: 50 kg sacks · bulk
  • Despatch: Full truck loads
  • Availability: Through the cottonseed crushing season

Typically bought for: Dairy and cattle feed, feed compounding, bulk agricultural trade.

Cottonseed Oil — milled and supplied by JV Agro, Vidarbha

Cottonseed

Cottonseed Oil

Crude Cottonseed Oil · Sarki Tel

Crude cottonseed oil from our filtering line, supplied to refiners in tanker and drum quantities.

We run around 200 tonnes a day of filtering. The oil goes to refiners who take it forward; we handle the crude stage and the logistics.

  • Type: Crude cottonseed oil
  • Stage: Filtered, pre-refining
  • Capacity: Approx. 200 MT per day of filtering
  • Packing: Tankers · drums
  • Despatch: Tanker movement arranged
  • Availability: Through the crushing season

Specification FAQ

Product questions, answered plainly

They are the same pulse under three names. Toor and tur are the western and central Indian names, arhar is the northern name, and in English it is split pigeon pea. Buyers in the Gulf usually say toor dal; buyers in North India say arhar.

By default, no. We supply it unpolished because that is what most kitchens and most export buyers now want. If you need a water polish or an oil polish for a particular market, we will do it — just say so before the lot runs.

By count per hundred grams, or by millimetre — 8 mm, 9 mm, 10 mm and above. Tell us which and we calibrate the line to hold that band across the whole lot. Uniformity within the container matters more than the headline size.

Kabuli is the large cream-white chickpea, sold whole and graded by size, used for hummus, canning and retail. Red chana, also called desi or kala chana, is the smaller brown chickpea, and it is what chana dal and besan are made from.

Usually, yes. Send us the specification sheet or a sample of what you are currently receiving, and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it, what it will cost, and whether there is a better way to get the result you actually want.

25, 30 and 50 kg woven sacks for trade. Printed HDPE, BOPP or laminated packs under your brand. Retail packs from 500 g to 5 kg. Export cartons for kabuli chana on request. Cottonseed oil moves in tankers or drums.

Yes. Red chana, kabuli chana, wheat and maize are supplied whole. Tur and chana are supplied as split dal, or as whole pulse if you mill it yourself.

It is set at the mill for where the consignment is going. A container heading into a humid Gulf summer is dried further than a truck going two districts away, because moisture that is fine in Vidarbha becomes mould in Dubai. It is checked before packing and recorded for the lot.

Send us a specification and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.

Including when we cannot — which saves you more time than a yes would.
